*UV PROTECTION: Consumer research has shown that UV protection is an important lens attribute for patients. In fact, 3 of 4 patients report that they want UV protection from their contact lenses, and 1 of 2 say they would switch brands for UV protection.
Since 1997, ACUVUE® Brand Contact Lenses have led the way in UV blocking. All ACUVUE® Brand Contact Lenses are FDA approved to help provide protection against transmission of harmful UV radiation to the cornea and into the eye.**
ACUVUE® Brand Contact Lenses block approximately 82% of UV-A radiation and 97% of UV-B radiation. On the average, contact lenses without UV blocking block approximately 10% of UV-A radiation and 30% of UV-B radiation1.

** WARNING: UV-absorbing contact lenses are NOT substitutes for protective UV-absorbing eyewear such as UV-absorbing goggles or sunglasses, because they do not completely cover the eye and surrounding area. You should continue to use UV-absorbing eyewear as directed. NOTE: Long-term exposure to UV radiation is one of the risk factors associated with cataracts. Exposure is based on a number of factors such as environmental conditions (altitude, geography, cloud cover) and personal factors (extent and nature of outdoor activities). UV-Blocking contact lenses help provide protection against harmful UV radiation. However, clinical studies have not been done to demonstrate that wearing UV-Blocking contact lenses reduces the risk of developing cataracts or other eye disorders.

I've worn contact lenses for years. Once, I developed an eye infection and my ophthalmologist recommended that I switch from extended wear to one-day lenses. These lenses are great and I've never had an eye infection since. I've found if I wear them for more than 14 hours, my eyes feel dry, but I had experienced that with other lenses as well. They're a bit pricier than extended wear, but you can't beat them for convenience, ease of use and that you're virtually guaranteed not to have less-than-clean lenses that might hurt your eyes. For me, they're worth the money.

Been wearing daily acuvue for many years and quality has suffered recently. One or two lenses per month are defective/irregular and can not be worn (1 out of every 30 lenses). Small nicks or tears right out of the box. It used to occur once or twice a year (say 1 out of every 500,) I used to recommend them without reservation, but now I would not until they get quality back in control.
Have been using Acuvue daily lenses for years as I am allergic to all extended wear cleaning products. Daily contact lenses prevent infection. Acuvue have always been my choice but a warning - check the curve is correct. I made the mistake of ordering 8.5 instead of 9 and couldn't wear them. My fault of course.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Research has shown that one of the safest types of contact lenses to wear are daily disposable contacts – you put in a fresh pair each morning and toss them out at night. This lessens the need for cleaning solutions, and other maintenance needs that go along with other types of lenses. 1 DAY ACUVUE disposable contact lenses are the safest daily disposables on the market – in fact they are so comfortable that studies have shown that these lenses can be left inserted without any discomfort for up to 2 weeks! These daily lenses by ACUVUE are the only daily lenses currently on the market that block both UVA and UVB rays, which in turn helps protect your eyes. 1 DAY ACUVUE lenses also have a number of other features to insure your contacts are easy to insert and comfortable to wear.
