I've been wearing these lenses for at least a decade or more. I wore hard lenses before that, and they were fine, but obviously didn't share many of the qualities of soft lenses, namely they blocked a great deal of oxygen from the eye and tended to dry out the eye much more than soft lenses, as well as being much more noticeable when worn. I would say I got very lucky with these lenses. They didn't irritate my eyes, they could be worn for about 6-8 weeks with proper care, and I could even leave them in for weeks with very little eye irritation (although they would have to be thrown away once I removed them if i did that). The last bit is NOT recommended, by the way. It is hard on your eyes to do that with any contacts not specifically engineered for it. I'm truly sad they are discontinuing this product. I highly doubt that anything in the Johnson & Johnson contact line comes close to replacing it or surpassing it at the same price point. Sadly it just seems like another example of money driving the industry (R&D, new products at higher prices, etc.). I'm probably going to switch to glasses after I can no longer acquire these contacts. Even the Acuvue Advance Plus lenses I tried briefly caused major eye irritation and I'm just not willing to go through that with multiple brands.

Switched from Acuvue 2 to these after my optometrist mentioned they wouldn't be making the Acuvue 2 anymore. Unfortunately, I didn't test out the sample pair she gave me before ordering more. After switching I'm very unhappy. These are much more uncomfortable. They retain their shape, so if I forget to check that they're lying flat in their case at night, when I put them in the next day they're misshapen and painful. After a few days of wear, they begin to blur badly toward the end of the day. My prescription strength increased with my last visit, and I was excited for new lenses to improve my vision, but these are almost worse than my old lenses. As I'm typing this review, after having these Advance lenses in for just about ten hours, I can barely read what I type because they're so blurry!

Comments about Acuvue Advance Contact Lens, 6 ea:

I am very unhappy that Acuvue is no longer manufacturing the Advance line of contacts. My doctor keeps on getting me to try new lenses, but I always come back to Acuvue Advance!! Been wearing them for 15-20 years. What will I do next year, if I cant find any Advance contacts?

Wore these for years, but heard they are being discontinued. Left lens consistently blurry. Packaging defective and unable to open. Not sure where these came from but they should not be sold. Switching to another brand as soon as I can get a new script.

These contacts are a good buy although I believe they were discontinued, or have just gotten harder to find. I am a fan of the 'old Acuvue', before they started discontinuing all of my favorites, to be replaced with far more expensive options. I have been stocking up on these while/where I can find them. I wear contacts daily and typically sleep in them although it is not recommended. I wake up, put in eye drops and am good to go. I normally do not experience any problems with these throughout the day, although rarely they get a little dry, but I carry eye drops with me regularly so this is not a problem.
