If you're having trouble reading things up close, chances are, you're experiencing presbyopia, a naturally occurring vision condition that begins to affect most people in their 40s. But, just because you have presbyopia doesn't mean you need bifocals or reading glasses.
Bausch + Lomb PureVision Multi-Focal contact lenses feature an innovative optical design allowing you to see clearly at all distances – near, far, and everywhere in-between. The PureVision brand is also the first family of silicone hydrogel lenses made of AerGel, a unique material designed to deliver extraordinary comfort and health.
Key Features and Benefits:
Exceptional multi-focal design for people with presbyopia
All-Distance Optics allow you to see clearly near, far and in-between
Comfort-enhancing AerGel material repels debris and stays moist all day
Allows natural levels of oxygen for healthy, white eyes
Designed to provide 30 days of excellent vision and comfort – easy to remember to replace them once a month
I have been wearing these lenses for ten months but recently had trouble reading small, fine print again as if I did not have the multi-focal lenses.
I went back to the doctor to get re-fitted. My right eye remained the same but my left eye prescription was reduced for far distances to -3.25. As a result, my far vision was perfect but the near vision still was not ideal. So the doctor adjusted the near vision from "low" to "high" (just on the left eye) and now my near vision is great. My far vision was 20-15 before the last change and 20-20 after the change. This is a small trade-off for being able to see very clearly up close.
Great job Doc and B&L.

I wear these lenses because I have zero options. I wear 14.0 8.3 and there are NONE available in multifocals. B&L is the only co. that offers a 14.0 diameter lens. I wear as daily wear - NEVER leave lenses in overnight!! I get about 6 wks out of them. The optics of a disposable lens will NEVER be as good as a normal daily wear. I miss my regular lenses terribly. Sadly, I just can't see up close at all with a single vision lens. The B&L lenses are a mediocre compromise. My distance vision is not as crisp, and my reading is fair but at least I don't have to fool with reading glasses. :/ I put up with the mediocrity and the lower quality lenses because it's my only choice to avoid reading glasses.
Comments about PureVision Multi-Focal Contact Lens, 6 lenses per Box:
I was using Acuvue and have had to switch to Bausch and Lomb since Acuvue discontinued the multifocus lens. I'm finding the B&L lenses are much more durable than the Acuvue. I use a multifocus lens and the B&L's have not torn, yet.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Presbyopia is a condition that affects millions of people as they start to get older, and makes it difficult to focus on near by objects – like menus, books, etc. For years, contact wearers who have this condition needed reading glasses along with their contacts to correct the problem. Now there are contact lenses available like the PureVision Multi-Focal lenses that allow the eye to focus on both near and far objects (and everything in between) with ease. PureVision lenses are made using their AerGel technology to help keep oxygen going to the eye, and also features rounded edges for extra comfort. Lightly tinted, these lenses can be used as daily lenses or as extended wear lenses for up to 30 days. Simply toss and open a new pack at the beginning of each month. Toss those reading glasses goodbye and try the PureVision Multi-focal contact lenses and experience crisp, clear vision, from any distance.
